Dear Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District Community:
As you may know, both Brad Morgan and I will be departing after the 2017-2018 school year. While the School Committee is currently conducting the search for the next Superintendent-Director, I am writing to update you on our efforts to name the next Principal of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School.
At the May district school committee meeting I requested (and the Committee granted) permission for me to hire an Interim Principal for the 2018-2019 school year. My reasoning for this request was/is twofold. First, hiring someone now would ensure that the District, School, and Essex North Agricultural & Technical School District Community have some administrative continuity no matter what happens with the timing of the Superintendent-Director search and/or the start date for the new District leader. Second, hiring an Interim Principal will allow the new Superintendent-Director to name their own Principal for the 2019-2020 school year.
With all of this in mind, I am pleased to announce that Shannon Donnelly will serve as Interim Principal of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, effective July 1, 2018, subject to agreement on a contract. I believe that Ms. Donnelly’s experience as a teacher and Assistant Principal, as well as her work as Admissions Coordinator, make her the perfect choice to lead the school during this time of significant change and transition. I hope that you will all join me in congratulating Shannon on her hiring to this critical role.
Ms. Donnelly, Mr. Morgan and I will be discussing other possible administrative changes within the school, including the filling of her role, within the next few days. You should expect to hear more from us on or before June 8th.
Best,
Bill
