Caroline DeGrappo of Ipswich was the recipient of the 2018 Essex Technical High School Outstanding Student of the Year Award. This award is sponsored by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators. This award recognizes those students whose scholastic and vocational-technical achievements have significantly contributed to their local school district and to the total vocational-technical education delivery system in the Commonwealth. The outstanding student nominees from each school were honored at a statewide dinner held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.
The criteria for the selection of this award included a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, technical competence, excellent attendance, leadership qualities, vocational-related work experience, involvement in extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
Caroline is a senior in the veterinary technology program and a member of the FFA leadership team.
