Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School DECA Club Excels in State Competiton, Heads to International Career Development Conference 

Danvers, MA – April 26, 2024– Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School (ENSATS) is proud to announce the achievements of its DECA Club and its student members who qualified to compete in the prestigious International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim, California. This exciting event will take place from April 27th – 30th at the Anaheim Convention Center, where our talented students will showcase their skills and expertise on a global stage.

DECA is a renowned organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. With a commitment to academic excellence, professional development, and community engagement, the ENSATS DECA club has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance and dedication.

At the recent Massachusetts DECA Competition, ENSATS DECA club members showcased their abilities in various categories, competing against top talents from schools across the region. Through their hard work, determination, and unwavering passion, they secured top positions in multiple events, earning the prestigious opportunity to represent our school and community at the ICDC.

The following students qualified to compete at the International Career Development Conference:

  • Priyani Rawal, Junior, IT – Retail Merchandising (Placed 2nd in MA)
  • Sophia Lugo, Junior, Carpentry, School-Based Enterprise (Gold Certified)
  • Layla Najeeb, Junior, Dental Assisting, School-Based Enterprise (Gold Certified)

The International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California, will provide our students with a unique opportunity to network with industry professionals, engage in competitive events, and participate in leadership workshops. Through hands-on learning experiences, competitive events, and community engagement initiatives, our club empowers students to excel academically, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact in their communities.

About Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School

Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School (ENSATS) opened as a four-year Massachusetts public career technical and agricultural high school in September 2014. ENSATS admits students from 17 member communities to the district’s 26 career technical and agricultural programs. Member communities include Beverly, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Lynnfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Peabody, Rockport, Salem, Swampscott, Topsfield, and Wenham. Students from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts also are eligible to earn admission to Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School’s seven animal science, agricultural, or natural resource programs.

ENSATS students are immersed in both their academic and career technical and agricultural (CTAE) programs throughout each year of their enrollment. Academic courses are available at the college preparatory, honors, and advanced placement levels. CTAE program placement is determined after participation in a Freshman Exploratory Program. Eligible students may also participate in the Cooperative Education Program, beginning midway through junior year.

Academic and CTAE Program coursework is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, Massachusetts Career Vocational Technical Education Frameworks, and Massachusetts High School Program of Studies (MassCore).
