Good Evening, Essex Tech Families!

As we close the books on September, we have lots to look forward to in October. The Topsfield Fair, Homecoming, FFA Nationals, Athletics, more Exploratory weeks, and a fast-approaching long weekend just one week from today. Early October also marks the middle of the first quarter. Students are encouraged to see their teachers after school if they are missing any assignments or need extra help.

Here is a preview of the schedule for this coming week.

10:45 am Late Start on Wednesday, 10.4.23

We will have professional development for teachers on Wednesday, October 4th. This means that on that day we will run classes A, B, and C. Bus pick-up times have been adjusted and are listed on the transportation page of the website in the “Late Start” column.

Essex Tech 5K

Unfortunately, due to low interest, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 5K. Our Senior Class Advisors are working with the race company to process refunds.

Yondr is Scheduled!

We are happy to report that Yondr will be implemented for freshmen on October 5, 2023. We will have a short assembly for Grade 9 students on Wednesday, October 4th at 1:30 pm. We will also have Yondr training for staff on October 4th during the Faculty Meeting.

Senior Events on the Essex Tech Unofficial Page

It has been brought to our attention that there are several posts about a senior trip on the Unofficial Essex Tech page. Please know that this trip is not school-sponsored or run by Essex Tech or the Class of 2024 advisors. We do not have any information about the trip and we do not know if it is legitimate or if it is a scam.

Vending Machines

We have adjusted the vending machines to be turned off during the school day, except at lunch. There are multiple water-filling stations throughout our buildings, should students need to fill water bottles during the day, when vending machines are not available.

Homecoming Dance 2023

We are excited to announce our 2023 Homecoming Dance! It will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with the times to be announced. This is a team effort, and we hope you will consider donating your time or a product. You can sign up here. There was a huge turnout last year and students had a blast!

After-School Academic Support

We strongly encourage students to take advantage of extra help after school with licensed teachers who are eager to assist! The After-School Academic Support takes place in our Media Center from 2:45 to 4:15 pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We have teachers available for Math/Science and for English/History support. Please remind your student to sign up for the 4:15 pm late bus.
