Sports Updates:

Boys Basketball finished the regular season at 12-8. Seniors Shawn O’Keefe and Colin Holden earned themselves co-MVP honors in the CAC Small, while Christian Federico earned himself a league all-star nod. The boys play Gloucester on Tuesday night in a preliminary-round matchup of the MIAA State Tournament.

Girls Basketball ended the regular season at a 7-13 mark. During their last home game of the year, they beat Northeast Tech in a thriller by a score of 60-56 in triple overtime. Senior Captain Molly McLeod scored a career-high 20 points while teammates Bryanna Grant and Hailey Roach combined for 28. Our three seniors hand the reigns down as they look forward to competing in the Cape Ann League next season.

Winter Cheer worked hard to attend each home game for the girls and boys basketball programs this winter. The squad was loud throughout the year and brought energy and intensity that any basketball program would be proud to have on its sideline.

Boys Hockey Concluded the regular season at a 17-1-2 clip. The boys set records for wins while winning their second straight State Vocational Championship on February 25th against Diman Tech. The squad will enter the MIAA State Tournament as the #8 seed and will host Northbridge at the Essex Sports Center on Thursday evening at 6:40.

Girls Hockey ended the regular season at 7-10-3 and will enter the MIAA State Tournament as the #17 seed. Notable players for the Hawks included goaltender Ella Tucker and teammates Ali Sprisser and Penny Levine-Stein during the course 0f the year. The girls will take on Plymouth on Wednesday, March 1st at 5:30.

Boys & Girls Indoor Track competed all across the state this year with both the girls and the boys teams. We had a number of Hawk competitors set personal and school records in various events during the year while sending 11 athletes to the MIAA Division IV State Meet in Boston.

Wrestling ended the season with an 11-13 record. The squad ranked 20th out of 237 schools that have wrestling programs in Massachusetts. Most notably for the Hawks, Trevor O’Neil made it into the top 12 during the All-States round of the postseason.

Swimming came to an end last week with much to be proud of. Many of our competitors set school and personal records across a variety of events. Most notably for the team, we had a number of athletes participate in the sectional round of MIAA Postseason action, while Kelly Uribe made it to the state round, participating in two events.
