Good Afternoon Families:
We have reached the final days of Quarter 1; it’s hard to believe that we have one-quarter of the school year behind us. Please note: our schedule is a bit unusual next week. Teachers will have a professional development day on Tuesday, November 8th, and therefore there is no school for students. School will be closed on Friday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran’s Day.

End of Quarter 1
November 8th is the last day of Quarter 1. Over the next two weeks, teachers will finalize and submit grades to the Registrar, and report cards will be available on or about November 23rd. We will notify families when report cards are accessible in Aspen.

Community Event
Olympic gold medalist Samantha Livingstone will be presenting her Whole Athlete Initiative sponsored by Speak Up Sports. The presentation will take place at Danvers High School on Wednesday, November 16th, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Samantha works to normalize mental health struggles and provide skills to help athletes cope with pressure and stress. This event is free and open to the public. School Pictures
School Pictures are now available for download or order through the GotPhoto portal. To access the photos, enter your student’s ID number as the access code. We understand that not every photo comes out perfect; if you would like to request retakes, please complete this Google Form. Retakes will take place on Tuesday, November 15th for freshmen and juniors. Wednesday, November 16th for Sophomores and Seniors. If photos are unavailable through the portal, students will need to participate in retake day. If you are unable to access your photos, please email helpdesk@essextech.net.
Girls Basketball
Anyone interested in playing Girls Basketball this upcoming season there will be a short meeting in the Main Cafe, Monday, November 7th at 2:45. The meeting will be general information about expectations and how to prepare for the upcoming season/tryouts and to answer any questions there may be. Depending on availability, there will be an open gym the same day from 3:00 -5:00 pm for all that are interested in staying after the meeting. Make sure you sign up for the 4:15 pm late bus or schedule a ride home. If you can’t make it to the meeting and have any questions you can email Coach O’Brien at: gobrien@essextech.net
School Council
There is a vacant seat for one Grade 9 parent/caregiver on the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School Council. The Council meets four to five times per year to review educational goals for the school, identify the educational needs of students attending the school, review the annual school building budget, and review the School Improvement Plan. These meetings are typically held on Thursday mornings at 7:45 am. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to sdonnelly@essextech.net
