Essex Tech Receives $340,000 Private Donation to Support Purchase of Equipment

HATHORNE – Superintendent Heidi Riccio is pleased to share that Essex Tech is the proud recipient of a $340,000 donation that will support several of the school’s career pathways and ensure students train with the most up-to-date equipment.
The donation is the largest gift from an individual in the school’s history. The donor requested to remain anonymous.
Essex Tech administration conducted a needs assessment in each career pathway, and will use the donation to purchase the following equipment:
  • Auto Collision, $6,100: Millermatic welder
  • Construction: $26,200: Multi-port sequential chargers; cordless tool kits with a drill, driver and saw; masonry saws; pipe threading machines for plumbing
  • Dental Assisting, $38,500: Radiology
  • Health Assisting, $7,500: Graham field synergy 1000 multi-position 4-rail bed with mattress
  • Advanced Manufacturing NightHawks, $48,000: Laptop carts
  • Advanced Manufacturing, $30,579: Simulator area for Computer Numerical Control programming; Coordinate Measuring Machine; Optical Comparator
  • NightHawks and Partnership Health Assisting, $12,000: CPR Mannequins, Automated External Defibrillators
  • Transportation, $75,000: Cameras
  • Engineering, $40,000: Electronic testers
The donation will allow those who attend Essex Tech to expand their skill set and enhance their knowledge while using the latest technology.
“This generous donation spans multiple career technical education programs, all of which are in need of a highly skilled workforce,” Superintendent Riccio said. “Through this support, our students will have access to updated technology and equipment that will prepare them to be ahead of the curve in their field.”
