Lynn Lyons is a speaker and psychotherapist from Concord, New Hampshire who works with children and families to manage anxiety disorders. Lynn will be speaking to our students during a virtual presentation and the dates are below. The presentation includes: “NOW What? The Keys to Emotional Management.” Students need strategies to help themselves manage the uncertainty and intensity of our current environment. We will focus on skills needed for emotional management, including how to increase flexibility, tolerate uncertainty, communicate effectively, and replace catastrophic thinking with problem-solving. She will be presenting to the Grade 10 and 11 students on Monday, February 22, 2021 and to the Grade 9 and 12 students on Friday, February 26, 2021. ENSATS Family and Community Zoom Series
We are proud to offer an ENSATS Family and Community Zoom Series of workshops. Please see the informational flyer for more details.
Cooperative Education Update
Juniors will be eligible for Cooperative Education positions on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Our Cooperative Education Coordinator, Ms. Berube, and Career Counselor, Ms. Shea, are working with juniors now to get them ready to start their placements when we return from the break. Any juniors with questions related to Co-op can reach out to Mrs. Berube or Ms. Shea.
CTE Selection
We are excited to report that grade 9 students have been placed in their CTE programs. While many are ecstatic because they received their first choice, others may be disappointed because they are on a waitlist for their program of choice. Please know, we have maximized the number of seats in our programs that tend to have waitlists. We consider teacher loads, safety considerations, and space capacity. We appreciate your understanding and know that your child will receive an excellent technical and agricultural education!
Fall II Sports
On Thursday, February 11, 2021, the Essex North Shore School Committee approved Football, Cheerleading, Girls Volleyball, and Indoor Track and Field to be played during the “Fall 2” season. This season will run from February 22 to April 25, 2021. Please be on the lookout for an informational letter regarding registration and tryouts from Athletic Director, Ms. Lalli, sometime next week.
Virtual FAFSA Form Completion Night
A Virtual Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA Form Completion Night will be hosted by the North Shore Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Reopening Plan
The Commissioner announced that school transportation restrictions have been relaxed. This will help us in our effort to bring back 75% of our students in the near future. Our action teams have reconvened to address how best to implement these changes to our Hybrid Learning Model. Our goal is to bring all students currently following a Hybrid schedule back to full-time CTE in-person learning. Please help us as we prepare for this transition by completing a brief survey that can be found HERE.
