Calendar Updates
We have updated the District calendar again. We realize that there have been many updates to the calendar this year, and your flexibility with these changes is greatly appreciated. The most recent changes will be found in March 2021 when we adjusted the days because grade 10 students will not be taking MCAS during March. It is anticipated that we will have to make additional adjustments in the months of May and June once our MCAS testing dates for students in grades 10 and 11 are confirmed. We have also updated the grade-level Hybrid calendars for Quarter 3. All of the calendars can be found at https://essexnorthshore.org/
Picture Retakes
Lifetouch will be present on campus Thursday, January 14th for picture retakes for any student who requires them. This is a rescheduled opportunity due to the snow day in December. All students who registered previously will be provided an appointment time and will be sent a pass through our SmartPass system.
Family Resources
We are pleased to share two resources that may be of interest to our families:
- North Shore Medical Center is offering a monthly series of lectures for families. Please visit https://nsmc.partners.org/
pediatrics/family_resource_ center/family_rounds for more information. - Winchester Coalition for a Safer Community will be hosting a presentation via zoom on January 21, 2021. If you have watched the “Social Dilemma” and have concerns about your children and social media, you may want to attend. More information can be found here: The Next Step: Solutions to the Dilemma

Picture of the Week
On January 6, 2021, Willy Burgos received his US Citizenship. Willy is the husband of Dianne Domenech. I (Dr. Riccio) graduated from Lawrence High School with her in 1987 (yikes)! Dianne oversees the math and science outreach program for minority students at Phillips Andover Academy. I saw this picture on my Instagram page and thought, “This is the USA.” I hope that we, as a country, and even more locally, as a school community, can come together and appreciate the uniqueness of each individual person and what they bring to the table. Congratulations, Willy! You are the face of hope.
