Weekly Message from ENSATS 1/15/2021

Good Evening Caregivers & Students:

We hope that all of our students, staff, and families are able to rest and relax over the long weekend and for the students’ return next week ready for the final two weeks of the semester.  More importantly, to remember why we have Monday off. Last year, we started to connect this day with a “Day of Service.” Members of our Culture Awareness Collective volunteered in Salem. Our ask is for all members of our community to give back in some way to honor MLK and his work.

Once again, here is the link to the ENSATS COVID Dashboard.  The dashboard is updated at the end of every week. We will provide the link in our weekly emails, but you can also find it on the Families page of our website in the COVID-19 section.

Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In keeping with our school-wide focus this year in equity and inclusion, we want to take this time to remember and honor the important work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..  It was King who dedicated his life to ensure that all people be afforded equal opportunity and access and, in his words, “not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”  We believe that our work in vocational education and teaching students to be responsible citizens is aligned to King’s vision for America.

Dress for Success

As a reminder to Grade 9 Exploratory students, please review the “Dress for Success” document that you received in your orientation folders.  For safety, students should not be wearing sweatpants, yoga pants, shorts, open toe shoes, or hoodies and must always wear safety glasses in CTE areas.

Superintendent Mid Cycle Review

At the January 14, 2021 school committee meeting, Superintendent Riccio presented the mid cycle review. This is in alignment with her SMARTIE goals. By unanimous vote, it was approved. If you would like more information on this process, please contact her directly at hriccio@essextech.net or 978-304-4673.
