Weekly Message from ENATS 11/10/2020

Good Evening Caregivers & Students:

This week we were able to celebrate some amazing achievements for our seniors.  On Tuesday, November 17th, 52 seniors were inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society.  These students were recognized not only for their academic and career technical or agricultural excellence, but also for their leadership skills, commitment to community service, and outstanding character.  Then on Thursday, November 19th, 87 seniors received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship.  This award is given to the students who scored in the top 25% of their class on the MCAS 2019 exams.  Congratulations to all of these students.  We are so proud of you!

Given our short week of school next week, our next message will be sent on Friday, December 4th.  We do want to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a Happy Thanksgiving.

New Information

Health Information

The state has seen an increase in COVID cases. We are working with state officials and our local DPH to ensure the safety of our students and staff. As you are aware, research has shown that cases are occurring at gatherings, parties, sleepovers, and not having/following protocols. The state has issued a mask wearing mandate. We ask that during this Thanksgiving you take into consideration our students who desperately want live instruction to continue. Also, if  you determine, as a family, to travel outside of Massachusetts, it is essential that you follow the state mandated guidelines.

Important Schedule Reminder

With Thanksgiving next week, there will be no school on Thursday, November 26th, and Friday, November 27th.  Wednesday, November 25th will be an early release day. Please note that this will not be an 8:45 am late start.  All students will begin classes (online or remotely) at 7:45 am and classes will end at 11:02 am.

Prior Updates

Holiday Travel Information from the Nurses Office

We have been getting many inquiries from families regarding their holiday travel plans and the latest return-to-school protocols.  We would encourage families to follow the Massachusetts Travel Guidelines at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order and refer to your local Board of Health for any clarifications when making travel plans.  These questions are difficult for us to answer with COVID rates and restrictions changing regularly and specific to where you are traveling. Please keep in mind that Governor Baker is discouraging unnecessary travel and large gatherings this holiday season.  If you do decide to travel outside of the low-risk states (refer to updated guidance on the link above for the status of states because this changes frequently), know that per these guidelines upon return you must obtain a PCR COVID test and remain quarantined in your home until you receive the results.  While we want everyone at ENSATs to enjoy the holiday season, especially as we end such a challenging year, we ask that you to be safe and thoughtful in your planning.  Some additional recommendations and tips from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) on celebrating the holidays safely can be found here.  https://www.mass.gov/news/thanksgiving-during-covid-19
