Essex Technical High School is proud to share the amazing accomplishments of senior Caroline DeGrappo from Ipswich, Massachusetts.
Caroline, who is enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Essex Technical High School, possesses an impressive resume that includes being nominated for both the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators (MAVA) Outstanding Vocational Technical Student award along with being a finalist for the U.S. Presidential Scholars program. The MAVA award recognizes those students whose scholastic and vocational technical achievements have significantly contributed to their local school district. The U.S. Presidential Scholars program recognizes and honors superior high school seniors whose performance demonstrates excellence and encourages high attainment among all students. Caroline’s nomination for both of these awards is clear testament to her commitment, achievement, and dedication. In addition to these nominations, she holds a 4.48 GPA, ranks sixth of 325 students in her senior class, is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, FFA Chapter secretary, FFA Chair of Community Service, 4-H Appleton Dairy Club President, leads and organizes multiple community events, and actively participates in cooperative education employed with SRH Veterinary Services in Ipswich. Excelling beyond the classroom, Caroline traveled to South Africa for two weeks as part of a pre-veterinary internship program where she worked with wild animals during the summer of 2017. For her future endeavors, Caroline’s intends to continue her education with a concentration is pre-veterinary science and to attend veterinary school.
