Grade 9 students and families will begin CTE Selection activities January 3, 2019, in preparation for CTE Placement on January 16, 2019!   Please use time prior to returning from the break to begin to prepare for this exciting process! Talk with your child about how they anticipate rank ordering their preferences during CTE Selection when they return from break. Parents/ Guardians are also reminded to access your child’s Aspen account to review the grades they earned during each exploratory cycle, your child’s weekly exploratory reflections (stored in your student’s individual school google drive) and your child’s Naviance Student account to review their career and personal exploration inventories and journal entries.  We also recommend visiting www.EssexNorthShore.org/CTE for more information about our CTE programs and strongly encourage Grade 9 students and parents/guardians to attend our CTE Family Fair on Thursday, January 3, 2019,  at 6 pm if possible.

WEDNESDAY, JAN 2: Exploratory CYCLE 8 begins

 

THURSDAY, JAN 3: CTE Family Fair 6 pm (Grade 9 Students and Parents/Guardians only).  

This is an opportunity for families and students to interact with CTE program faculty and Grade 9 Guidance to review curriculum and career pathway opportunities during the CTE Selection period.

 

FRIDAY, JAN 4: CTE Selection*

Grade 9 Counselors meet with students to complete an individual CTE Selection Approval Form.  Students will return home with their CTE Selection Approval Form for immediate parent/guardian review and signature.

 

MONDAY, JAN 7: Sign CTE Selection Approval Forms DUE by 8:30 am.

Signed forms (student and parent/guardian) are due back to the Freshman Academy Office upon arrival (by 8:30 am).

 

*TUESDAY, JAN 8, 2019: Exploratory Cycle 8 Grades Posted in Aspen at the end of the school day; Students and families should review these grades Tuesday evening. Students and families may make a change to their CTE Selection order only as it relates to Cycle 8 after reviewing the grade.  All requests must be in writing from a parent/guardian and must be received in the Freshman Academy Office by WEDNESDAY, JAN 9, 2019 at 8 AM.

Students will receive their Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical Program Placement Certificates
