Good Evening Parents/Caregivers and Students:
We hope that all of our students and staff were able to rest and recharge during the February vacation week. As we have reached the beginning of March, winter sports are winding down, juniors are heading out to cooperative education placements, and SkillsUSA, DECA, and FFA are preparing for their upcoming competitions.

SAT: April 26th
Essex North Shore has made arrangements with the College Board to offer the SAT Test during the School Day on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, to our students. Priority registration for this SAT School Day opportunity will be given to ENSATS Grade 11 students. For more information, please click here.
MCAS English Language Arts Test
All grade 10 students will take the MCAS English Language Arts test on Tuesday, March 22nd and Wednesday, March 23rd. It is important that grade 10 students make every effort to attend school on those testing days and that they arrive on time and ready to go.
Important Schedule Adjustments for MCAS days
MCAS ELA testing for grade 10 will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd and Wednesday, March 23rd. School will begin at 7:45 am for 9th- and 10th-grade students on both testing days. 11th- and 12th-grade students will arrive at 11:30 am to start their school day.
Buses for Grade 11 and 12 Students during MCAS
Once again, students in grade 11 and 12 will arrive at school by 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 22nd and Wednesday, March 23rd. Any student who will need to ride the bus to school on these days will need to sign up for the bus with Ms. Kelly in the Main Office on March 14th and March 15th. Once we know which students will need a ride to school, we will determine the routes and email stops and pick-up times to families.
Kindness Week Reading Initiative
At Essex Tech, we celebrate Kindness Week during the week of April 11th. During the week, we have a variety of events planned to promote kindness and gratitude in our school community. For the past few years, we have had a reading component to Kindness Week, where our students share stories about kindness with elementary schools in our area. We would like to step up our reading initiative and share our Kindness Week across the country. Our hope is to connect with at least one elementary school in each state and have our students read to the children via Zoom during Kindness Week. This is a large undertaking, and we could use some assistance.
We have created a spreadsheet to gather a contact at a school in each state; however, several states are still unaccounted for. I am hoping that by opening this up to all of our families, we may still be able to reach each state. If you know of someone or have a contact at a school that would be interested in this initiative and you would like to share that contact information with us, please add that information to our 50 for 50 Kindness Week Spreadsheet. If there is already a name on the line next to the state, please do not change it or delete the name. We only need help for the states that are not already accounted for. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. If you have any questions please email me at [email protected].

A member of our school community is working with the Sunflower of Peace organization to collect medical supplies. Please click here for more information.
Students on Campus After School
As a reminder, students are allowed to remain on campus after school for extra-help/homework center, athletics, and extracurricular activities. All students must be supervised by an adult while here after school. Students cannot remain at school to socialize and hang out with friends. Students who attend extra help and extracurricular activities can take the 4:15 late bus home if they sign up for the bus in the morning. Students cannot leave campus and then return to campus to take the late bus. The 5:45 pm late buses are only available for athletes and drama club students. It is important to note that the 5:45 late buses will stop running after February 28th and will begin again on March 21st.
