Weekly Message from ENSATS 1/2/2021

Good Evening Caregivers & Students:

Happy New Year!  We hope that all of our students and staff have had time to rest and recharge during the holiday vacation.   Our Facilities staff has been hard at work this week cleaning and prepping the building for the return of our students and staff on Monday, January 4th.

We recognize and understand that the metrics have increased for positive COVID-19 cases. This is as concerning for us as it is for you. However, we do still believe that live instruction is critical and closely following the protocols put in place will assist us in keeping our school open. We strongly encourage you to review our protocols and talk to your children about the importance of following them.

Breakfast & Lunch: The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended a federal waiver allowing school districts across the country to offer free meals to all children until June 30, 2021.  All students will receive free breakfast and lunch. We encourage students to participate in this program as a proper diet is essential to student learning.

As we return to school this week, we would like to remind our students about the important protocols we have in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  We all need to do our part to stay healthy and stop the spread.  With your help, we will be able to continue in-person instruction, sports, and activities in the new year.

  • Wear masks at all times while in school (except at lunch and during mask breaks).
  • Maintain 6-feet distance at all times.
  • Sit in assigned seats at lunch.
  • Sit in identified spaces on the bus.

Please watch this video from the fall to review our safety protocols: Back to School Safety Protocols.

Please keep your child home if they:

  • Are experiencing any symptoms of illness (and contact their primary care physician)
  • Have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 14 days
  • Are awaiting results for a COVID-19 test or
  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 over the last 10 days.

For more information on quarantine and isolation guidelines see: mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-isolation-and-quarantine-information

If any of these scenarios apply to your child or family, please email [email protected] with your child’s name, grade, and the best phone number to contact you.  A representative from our School Health Office will follow up to plan for your child’s return to school.

As a reminder, Governor Baker has tightened restrictions for travel. While we recognize that family gatherings will occur in some capacity, we hope that you will follow the travel advisories. This includes out-of-country travel as well. Please refer to the advisory HERE. There is new information related to the length of time to quarantine in the case of close contact, and this information can be found HERE.
