Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School offers a wide variety of services to our community members. Many of our career technical & agricultural programs serve the public, including automotive work, collision repairs, pet grooming, floral arrangements & plant sales, lunch in our restaurant, pastries, sandwiches, and take-out meals from our cafe, a full-service beauty salon, and more. Many of our programs also offer services off-campus to our community municipalities and non-profit organizations. For more information, see our Outside Projects information below. In addition, our buildings, classrooms, athletic fields, and other areas are available for use by our community-based organizations.

The Career Technical & Agricultural Education Programs listed below offer services, host events, and are actively involved with our local community.

Maple Street Bistro & Bakery

Bistro & Bakery Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (unless otherwise noted) from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
**Please call between 8:30-9:30 am the morning of to make a reservation or place a to-go order at (978) 304-4700 x2120. Due to space limitations, the Bistro is by reservation only.

The Maple Street Bistro & Bakery are student-run facilities with fresh food prepared daily.

Our Bistro has a different menu daily, which includes a soup, salad, sandwich, and a few entree selections to choose from. All items are made from scratch and prepared on-site daily. The Bistro allows our students the opportunity to run a full-functioning upscale restaurant. The students run all aspects of the Bistro, from prepping food, baking, cooking, grilling, expo, wait-staff, cooking on the line, and even the dish room. We look forward to serving your lunch soon!

The Maple Street Bakery is also student-run and has fresh baked goods for sale! Fresh out-of-the-oven bread and rolls, which are so good, you will keep coming back for more! We also have freshly baked pies, cookies, cakes, brownies, sandwiches, salads, and more that are offered daily. Our items sell out fast and are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Blooming Designs

Run by the students, Blooming Designs is the retail floral shop to meet all your floral needs! Each week, the Sustainable Horticulture students work to develop their competency in floral design by creating floral arrangements that are then made available for the public to purchase. Floral designs available for sale include both specialty holiday designs planned for prominent holidays, as well as everyday designs. Also available in Blooming Designs are seasonal plants and tropical houseplants, most of which have been propagated, grown, and maintained by the students. Additionally, Blooming Designs collaborates with the Masonry program providing cement figurines/garden ornaments to the public.

Cosmetology – Salon 565

Hours: Thursday & Friday 8:00am – 11:30am

Please call (978) 304-4700 x3125 to book an appointment today! Services are by appointment only, so please call earlier in the week! Availability of appointments is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Cosmetology Department is a learning lab, and all work is performed by the students. If you are looking for an Up-Do for a party or function, or need your nails manicured, our students know just what to do.

Other services include haircuts, shampoo & blow dry, shampoo & roller set, temporary and permanent color, full and partial highlights, and perms. Our students also can give you a manicure, wax your eyebrows and lip, and even give you a facial! Please call with any questions or for pricing. Gift certificates are available, and tips are welcomed.



The Animal Science department’s Grooming program is a learning lab where all work is performed by the students. Services students can provide include brushing, bathing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and breed clips, based on a student’s learning progression. Gift certificates are available.

Facilities Use

Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District and Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School are home to some of the best facilities on the north shore. The district and high school buildings offer classrooms, two gymnasiums, a state­-of­-the-­art Library Media Center, multiple flexible meeting venues, a professional turf field, and a variety of grass playing fields. Spaces may be used once or on a long-term rental or lease. Catering may be optional in some spaces.

Outside Projects

The Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District invites our District Communities and non-profit organizations to submit applications for work projects for our Construction Academy students to complete on and off campus. These projects provide our students with authentic work experiences. Applications are reviewed by the Director of Career Technical & Agricultural Education and the Outside Project Team for educational value, the scope of work, and career preparation for our students. Potential projects are prioritized as follows; first, Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District cities and towns, and second, in-district Non-Profit Organizations.
