Community Profiles

From Your Town to Their Tomorrow

Every year, Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School welcomes more than 1,900 students from across the North Shore and beyond. These community profiles offer a clear, town-by-town look at what your community contributes to Essex Tech — and what your community gets back.

Inside each profile, you’ll find current enrollment by grade, your community’s annual assessment, the percentage of the student body your town represents, and the full range of programs and opportunities available to your students.

Who We Serve

Essex Tech serves two groups of students under Massachusetts law, and the distinction matters when families consider applying.

Our 17 Member Communities

Students from our member communities can apply to any of our 26 career, technical, and agricultural programs. These communities form the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District, share in the district’s annual operating assessment, and are represented on the District School Committee.

Our member communities are:

Beverly · Boxford · Danvers · Essex · Gloucester · Hamilton · Lynnfield · Manchester-by-the-Sea · Marblehead · Middleton · Nahant · Peabody · Rockport · Salem · Swampscott · Topsfield · Wenham

Surrounding Communities – Agricultural Program Eligibility

As a Chapter 74-approved agricultural school, Essex Tech is required by Massachusetts regulation to accept qualified applicants to our agricultural programs from communities across Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk counties — even when those communities are not members of our district.

Students from these 41 surrounding communities are eligible to apply to our eight agricultural-focused programs: Arboriculture, Companion Animals, Large Animal Sciences, Landscaping & Turf Management, Livestock & Poultry, Natural & Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Horticulture, and Veterinary Science

Out-of-district agricultural tuition contributed $2.1 million to Essex Tech in FY25 – revenue that directly offsets costs for our member communities.
