Message from ENSATS 11/9/2023

Good Evening, Essex Tech Families!

We honored our veterans this week by having our History students add their handwritten notes to our “Thank You for Your Service” cards that are now en route to North Shore veteran services agencies. We hope everyone will take some time to reflect and thank a veteran for serving our country!  Our veterans have made the courageous decision to protect and serve. We are forever grateful for them. For all those veterans in our school community, thank you. You are greatly appreciated.🇺🇸

Grades have closed for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 began yesterday, Wednesday, November 8th.  It’s hard to believe we are one-quarter of the way through the school year already.

Hawk Holiday Hope Decorations

Hawk Holiday Hope is our annual school-wide community service learning event held on December 8th.  Each A-block class has “adopted” a child through the Department of Children and Families in Salem to purchase gifts for during this upcoming season of giving.  As a school community, we will provide holiday gifts for about 200 children on the North Shore.  Each year our amazing PTO decorates the building and creates a Winter Wonderland the night before. The PTO is looking for donations of used or new decorations. Please click here for more information.

Financial Aid Information Session

Essex North Shore has partnered with MassEdCo and their North Shore area Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) to support our senior families with accessing and completing college financial aid applications, including the FAFSA and CSS Profile. The EOC is hosting a virtual Financial Aid Information Session for Essex Tech Seniors and their families on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Please click here for more information.

Pictures of the Week

22 of our Fall Integration Academy students departed by coach bus this morning for Gettysburg with Ms. Berry, Mr. Gwilliam, and Mr. Mastone.  This integration project involved a 4-week collaboration between Information Technology Services and History.  Mr. Norton, who also participated in this Academy, set up the local area network for students to play the computer-based historical simulation Ultimate General: Gettysburg in preparation for this weekend’s trip.

Just this morning, we had a small ceremony to raise the POW-MIA flag at school.  Several of our teachers who are veterans were able to attend and many students attended as well.
