Good Evening Essex Tech Families,
Our teachers and staff members returned to school on Monday and after two very productive Professional Development days, we are excited to welcome our students back to campus tomorrow.
We wanted to provide a few reminders before our first day.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30th is a 7:45 am start. We will begin our 8:45 am Late Starts next Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Here is a preview of the schedule for the rest of this week.
|Wednesday, August 30, 2023||Day 1: Blue 1st day for all students|
7:45 am start
|Thursday, August 31, 2023||Day 2: Blue 2nd day for all students|
|Friday, September 1, 2023||No School for students and staff|
All Bus routes have been posted on the Transportation page of the website. Students should be at their stops 10 minutes before their scheduled pick-up time. Please be patient with our drivers as they navigate new routes and manage traffic on the first few days. We will make adjustments as needed over the next few weeks.
New Bus Drop-Off Procedure
As always, all buses will stop at the Main Entrance to drop off students in the morning. However, the buses will now also stop at South Campus in the morning to drop off students directly to Gallant Hall for those students beginning the day over there. Breakfast will be available to students when they arrive to school in the Main Cafeteria and in the Smith Hall cafeteria for those on South Campus.
We understand that students may still wish to make some changes to their schedules and our School Counseling Department is working to make changes; however, students must follow their schedule as it appears in Aspen until any changes are made.

Dress for Success
Grade 10 and 12 students are reminded that they will be in CTAE tomorrow and therefore should be in their full shop uniforms. Students in grade 9 and 11 will be in academics and should dress according to our school’s dress code. Please see page 26 of the Student Handbook for specifics about the dress code. Students who arrive out of dress code will be asked to change. Thank you for your cooperation.
We are excited to meet our new students, the Class of 2027, and we look forward to a great start to our 2023-2024 school year.
