Hi everyone,

Welcome to August 1st, which is the bell lap for summer reading.   The good news for those of you who haven’t begun your summer reading is that there is still time to get your summer reading requirement completed while you enjoy the leisure of summer vacation.  This is a chance to take your time and read the book at your own pace.

We are hearing from those in our school community who have read Line Change that it is both a very compelling story and a page-turner.  Told from multiple perspectives, readers can see quickly how one event can have such a profound impact on so many other lives.  In fact, many students, parents, teachers, and administrators enjoyed Line Change so much they are telling others to read it who they think would benefit from hearing Matt’s story.

Finally, you should also know that we are excited to announce that the author Matt Brown and Todd Civin, who helped Matt as a co-author and who also handled the publishing of Line Change, are coming to address the Essex Tech school community on Thursday, August  29, 2019, at an all-school assembly that morning.  To understand their message when they come to school means that YOU have to read the book.
